Nintendo Cake

WOW! What a challenge! We just delivered the bear cake and worked on this one all day long. We worked on this creation until 2 am while my sister-in-law laughed and laughed.... but we did it. Alix even helped with the control, she loves her uncle. Paul had the task of cutting out all the lettering for the front of the Nintendo box and as usual he did a great job. I have to work on my corners a little but it still came out great. This was a fun cake indeed.

The Birthday Bear-riffic Cake

The finished product! I was very stressed making this cake and my pink fondant wasn't cooperating. Was it the room temperature, I don't know. It gets really hot when I'm baking so I turned the air on to cool things down a bit. Look at the bear! It's perfect! Paul sculpted the bear out of melted down tootsie rolls, it came out fantastic. I was really proud of him. This cake must of weighed about 40 pounds. The bottom tier was chocolate cake with cream cheese frosting and the top tier was white cake with chocolate fudge frosting. Paul helped us load this Grizzle Bear in the car and Alix (my daughter) and I delivered it to the grandparents house not to far from our home, that was nerve racking. The grandparents seemed to be pleased with the appearance of the cake... now just have to wait for our client to tell us what she thought of the cake.

Bear-riffic!!!!!!

I received another inquiry on my cakes... this is getting exciting. She wants a birthday cake for her 3 year old daughter and to be consistent with her bear theme, which is great because as seen in the last cake creation, Paul can do BEARS! Oh and did I mention that the party is on Saturday... 2 days away! No time to blog.... gotta get to baking!

Continuing to be Happy Ever After

So after chatting with my cousin a bit on what he would like, this is the finished product. It consists of 2, 2-layer, 6" round cakes made from crushed strawberries. The filling was also made from fresh strawberries. Paul molded the bear with fondant and it came out soooo cute! I hope they like.
